Copland House Inc at 1538 Washington Street, Cortlandt, New York.

I am pleased that the home of American composer and conductor Aaron Copland has been preserved. I spent half a dozen times in the 1970s as a weekend house guest at Rock Hill, and I still have memories of Aaron Copland at his piano in his studio, or walking with him around the surrounding wooded area, sitting outside on the flagstone terrace watching the Hudson River in the distance.

The house was reasonably modest but had huge windows to take in the views, and the four acres of land provided privacy.
